Our Design Philosophy

Not every business needs the same kind of website. A restaurant, a real estate agent, and a home service company all have completely different customers with different goals — so their websites should be built differently, too.

If a homeowner is looking for a plumber to un-clog their drain, they most likely are not going to click on your "Gallery" page to view pictures of shower heads that you've installed. They're looking for a quick way to contact you. For this reason, we make sure that you're phone number is front and center with a click-to-call button.

However, if a client is looking for a new hair salon, there's a good chance that they will click on your "About" page because they'll want to know WHO is going to be doing their hair. They'll most likely want to see pictures of your work also so they'll seek out a "Gallery" page or a link to your Instagram page. That's why we make this information super easy for clients to find.

For service businesses, the website’s job is simple: help a client quickly find what they need, build trust, and make it effortless to contact you. When someone is looking for a contractor or local service, they usually aren’t browsing for fun — they’re trying to answer a few fast questions:

  • Do you offer the service I need?

  • Do you serve my town/area?

  • Are you reputable and trustworthy?

  • How do I reach you right now (call/text/form)?

Flashy websites can look cool. But when a homeowner is trying to solve a problem, they typically don’t care about fancy animations or “wow-factor” design — they care about clear information and easy next steps. That’s why we design service websites so the most important details are obvious within seconds, without hunting, scrolling forever, or clicking through a maze of pages.

Why the homepage matters so much for service businesses

Most local-business visitors don’t click around very much. A BrightLocal study analyzing Google Analytics data from 11,000+ local business websites found the average bounce rate is 60.23% (and 64% on mobile) — meaning about 6 out of 10 visits view only one page and leave.

For common service categories, it’s even higher: Repairs: 66.86% and Plumbing/HVAC: 65.51% (again, sessions where people view only one page).

In plain English: your homepage often is the entire experience for a large chunk of potential customers. So we design your homepage to do the heavy lifting:

  • Clear headline that says exactly what you do (and who you help)

  • Service list that’s easy to scan

  • Strong trust signals (photos, reviews, badges, years in business, etc.)

  • Prominent call/text buttons and a simple contact form

  • Service area and “next step” guidance (estimate, call-back, scheduling)

We’ll still build supporting pages (service detail pages, FAQs, about, galleries, etc.) for customers who want more info and for SEO — but we never assume visitors will click around. We build your site so that even if someone only sees the homepage, they can still confidently choose you and contact you.
